As lockdown restrictions ease and we start to consider travelling again, the future of cross-Channel operator Eurostar remains uncertain.
Eurostar is seeking financial support from the UK Government, citing higher access charges here as a reason.
The French Government has pledged to provide support for the operator, while £200 million has been provided by one of its shareholders, Caisse de Dépôt et Placement du Québec (CDPQ) and Hermes Infrastructure.
Registered in the UK and supporting 3,000 jobs either with the business or in the supply chain, the company is, however, 55% owned by SNCF (French state rail), 40% by CDPQ/Hermes and 5% by SNCB (Belgian state railways).

This Senior role will be a link between the Client’s / Network Rail technical team, the lead design team, main contractors and sub-contractors design team.The role will take responsibility for all permanent Electrical design, to ensure the information is coordinated between disciplines, packages, permanent and temporary works.

* Manage the design process according to both internal and Customer procedures, including implementing the design management plan and BIM implementation plan.

* Liases with MEP design team including specialist designers, internal designers and subcontractors responsible for their own design elements.

* Manage and monitor design progress and performance, including KPIs.

* Manage the interfaces between engineering disciplines / design and construction / temporary and permanent works design activities.


Responsible for the review and close-out of all Technical Queries (TQs) and Requestsfor Information (RFIs) raised by the Design, Construction and Installation Teams,bringing them to the attention of the CEM, and where warranted, converting internalTQs and RFIs to external TQs and raising to the attention of Network Rail via the PTRprocess.

Previous experience of working as a Design CRE in a Network Rail environment is highly advantageous.
