THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

This CAD/Design Technician role will suit you if you thrive in fast paced environments with an appetite for being involved in developing key and innovative design solutions associated with rail infrastructure, in particular E&P infrastructure (Electrification & Plant). THE ROLE

As CAD/Design Technician you will immerse yourself in various schemes but specialising in the Electrification & Plant function of the in house design team. Day to day you’ll be kept busy with the sheer volume of these projects producing 2D CAD drawings and intelligent 3D models to support to business’s forward-thinking BIM strategy, reading and interpreting technical instructions to produce drawings, liaising with project delivery staff to agree and record working details whilst always ensuring a best in class, safe working practice.

THE REQUIREMENTS

To be considered for this CAD / Design Technician role you will be educated to Degree level (HNC/HND as a minimum) with direct experience within a rail infrastructure environment. Experience within an E&P rail environment would be preferred but as a minimum, experience of working as a CAD / Design Technician on rail infrastructure projects such as civils, bridges, structures, stations, signalling etc. You should be an expert in CAD packages with demonstrable experience to back up your claims (minimum 2 years) and should have a working appreciation of relevant software packages such as AutoCAD, Projectwise and Microstation.

THE SALARY

£25-£30k + pension 5% + Healthcare + 25 days holiday + BH
