As lockdown restrictions ease and we start to consider travelling again, the future of cross-Channel operator Eurostar remains uncertain.
Eurostar is seeking financial support from the UK Government, citing higher access charges here as a reason.
The French Government has pledged to provide support for the operator, while £200 million has been provided by one of its shareholders, Caisse de Dépôt et Placement du Québec (CDPQ) and Hermes Infrastructure.
Registered in the UK and supporting 3,000 jobs either with the business or in the supply chain, the company is, however, 55% owned by SNCF (French state rail), 40% by CDPQ/Hermes and 5% by SNCB (Belgian state railways).

Anderselite are currently representing a major construction company that is seeking to employ a Contracts Manager to work within their Civil Engineering Division based from their South Wales office.

This position is to be responsible for the successful management and of framework contracts and stand alone tendered works within the civil engineering and rail industries. Typical works are valued from £500k to £5m, the role will manage Project Managers, Agents, Engineers and Foremen to deliver profitable contracts safely and to programme.

This is a highly client facing role, providing leadership to the internal project teams. You will support the project delivery teams with technical and leadership support, bid manage tenders (with support from Project Managers and Site Agents) and help grow the business through repeat business and new opportunities.

It is essential that you will hold substantial experience in civil engineering with some rail experience a big advantage. This role is highly suitable to a Senior Project Manager looking to make a move into a more senior role, or a Contracts Manager looking for a new challenge.

Ideally I am looking for someone to take the role on a permanent basis with a likely salary of £70000 to £75000 per annum plus package.
