As lockdown restrictions ease and we start to consider travelling again, the future of cross-Channel operator Eurostar remains uncertain.
Eurostar is seeking financial support from the UK Government, citing higher access charges here as a reason.
The French Government has pledged to provide support for the operator, while £200 million has been provided by one of its shareholders, Caisse de Dépôt et Placement du Québec (CDPQ) and Hermes Infrastructure.
Registered in the UK and supporting 3,000 jobs either with the business or in the supply chain, the company is, however, 55% owned by SNCF (French state rail), 40% by CDPQ/Hermes and 5% by SNCB (Belgian state railways).

"An exciting opportunity for an experienced Contracts Manager to join our client's team in the Midlands working on packages of multi-disciplinary civil engineering projects in rail".

The Role

As Contracts Manager you will be responsible day to day, for the operational management of a package of civil engineering works in the rail sector which will include the financial monitoring and control of the schemes within the regional portfolio of works, also ensuring Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality compliance is maintained and the Company's procedures and objectives are achieved.


Experience in a Contracts Manager level position for a multi-disciplinary rail contractor organisation.
Demonstrable experience and understanding of all aspects of the contracting process, and technical construction requirements. The successful candidates needs to be able to establish strong working relationships with a wide range of clients and internal stakeholders at varying levels of seniority.


Relevant qualification in civil engineering (e.g. BSc / BEng in civil engineering)
Chartered Member or affiliation to a relevant professional institution (e.g ICE)
Civil Engineering and rail project experience is essential
Contractual experience with NEC or bespoke NR forms of contract
