As lockdown restrictions ease and we start to consider travelling again, the future of cross-Channel operator Eurostar remains uncertain.
Eurostar is seeking financial support from the UK Government, citing higher access charges here as a reason.
The French Government has pledged to provide support for the operator, while £200 million has been provided by one of its shareholders, Caisse de Dépôt et Placement du Québec (CDPQ) and Hermes Infrastructure.
Registered in the UK and supporting 3,000 jobs either with the business or in the supply chain, the company is, however, 55% owned by SNCF (French state rail), 40% by CDPQ/Hermes and 5% by SNCB (Belgian state railways).

Commercial Manager - Rail Sector

My client, a well respected name in the engineering sector are award winning and have an excellent reputation in their specific niche. Having won various prestigious Frameworks around the UK they are seeking a Commercial Manager to join thier Commercial team.

About the Role

Running the Commercial team your duties will cover ensuring that payments are received in accordance with the contract terms, prompt submission of estimate / tendering information to the client, prompt presentation of Final Accounts, including negotiation of all contractual entitlements. Preparation and presentation of forward work schedules and cash flows. Procurement, negotiation and placing of Sub-contract orders. Financial and commercial management of Sub-contractors through to settlement of their Final Accounts.

The role will be based in South Yorkshire but will require you to travel to their offices in Braintree on a regular basis.

About You

Our ideal candidate will have previous commercial experience within a contracting environment and experience of working within the Rail sector as well as being qualified to degree level or equivalent or hold compensating experience
