As lockdown restrictions ease and we start to consider travelling again, the future of cross-Channel operator Eurostar remains uncertain.
Eurostar is seeking financial support from the UK Government, citing higher access charges here as a reason.
The French Government has pledged to provide support for the operator, while £200 million has been provided by one of its shareholders, Caisse de Dépôt et Placement du Québec (CDPQ) and Hermes Infrastructure.
Registered in the UK and supporting 3,000 jobs either with the business or in the supply chain, the company is, however, 55% owned by SNCF (French state rail), 40% by CDPQ/Hermes and 5% by SNCB (Belgian state railways).

The Role

Managing and developing the engineering teams you will be providing technical advice and managing the engineering input to the construction program. You will be accountable for engineering aspects of the delivery of projects to program and technical standards, as well as ensuring compliance with company procedures and policies. As part of the role you will develop and drive innovation and carry our site visits as part of supporting employees whilst ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental issues are given the highest priority.

About You

As the Contractors Engineer Manager you will be educated to a degree level in a relevant discipline and will have achieved chartered status. With previous experience of working in a CEM or acting CEM role in the rail industry, you will have sound knowledge of the operational railway environment. You will have completed the following courses: IOSH Managing safely and environmental awareness.

Although not essential it would also be advantageous if you have Chartership or working towards.

As this is a national role we can base the successful individual anywhere with remote working but they must be willing to travel nationally, with all expenses covered
