As a Business Development Manager, you’ll generate, identify and capitalise on opportunities to develop new business within the Automotive and Rail sectors.
You’ll write high quality bespoke tenders, proposals and presentation material to ensure current or prospective clients and their procurement departments, have a thorough understanding of the full range of SGS services and contacts, including the benefits, advantages and added value services.
You will also develop and deploy marketing campaigns to increase industry awareness of SGS services and grow the Transportation business in the UK.
As a Business Development Manager, you’ll receive a salary of between £35k and £45k, depending on experience, plus a company car, and you will also benefit from a sales related bonus scheme, retail discount scheme, private health cover, and a contributory pension scheme and life cover.
To be successful you’ll need to have previous experience operating in a business development role, selling B2B services preferably within the Transportation sector, or similar environment, with the ability to sell ‘Services’ rather than ‘Products’.
You’ll have a proven record of achieving sales targets (new and existing clients) and will be experienced in establishing professional and progressive relationships with key influencers in client organisations.
You’ll also need experience in drafting and submitting high quality bespoke tenders, negotiating effectively with clients and will have the ability to convert customer ‘ideas’ or ‘requirements’ into compelling quotes / tender materials. You will be confident in preparing and delivering high quality, clear and succinct presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint and other media, ensuring immediate understanding of the subject matter and buy-in to key points.
You’ll also need a sound local/global working knowledge of the products/services/business including, market trends, statutory obligations, new innovations & any environmental, economic and political influences, etc
* GCSE / A Level English & Maths grades A-C (or equivalent)
* Relevant industry/professional qualification
* Full driving licence for use in the UK
