Business Development Manager – Rail / Construction, Salary: Up to c£40k + Car, Uncapped Commission, Contributory pension. Candidate to be based out of one of the following regional offices; Peterborough, Grays, Nuneaton or Slough (national travel required with a focus on the Midlands and the South).
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Business Development Manager to work for one of the UK’s largest providers or portable accommodation / cabins, modular construction and associated products for hire and sale. The ideal candidate will have experience in a Business Development Manager capacity and experience of selling into the rail sector. Experience of portable cabin / modular construction would be beneficial.
The purpose of the role is to identify, bid and/or negotiate new business opportunities for both hire and sale, from both existing and new client’s specifically in the rail sector and HS2 Project.
Business Development Manager Key Duties;
To develop and maintain relationships within the rail sector (to include JV’s, main contractors, sub-contractors) and ensure advanced knowledge of pending projects.
To develop relationships with key construction consultancies and main / tier 1 contractors operating in the health and education sector.
To identify through research, intelligence and relationships opportunities for new business
Work with the Sales and Marketing Director to develop strategies for converting opportunities into workload.
Develop a pipeline of Sales opportunities in the rail sector and strategies for converting to orders.
Maintain a record of all activity on the company CRM system and complete monthly and ad hoc reports as required.
Meet and where possible exceed sales targets.
Researching, monitoring and communicating status of competitive market landscape; and maintaining up-to-date market knowledge of both competitors and potential client requirements.
