We are currently working with a leading engineering contractor who are looking to recruit for an Assistant Rail Civil Design Engineer being based in their office near Glasgow, working on Civils schemes to supplement electrification projects. As the Assistant Rail Civil Engineer will report to the Civil Team leader in which you’ll work with Civil Design Engineers, Graduates and Technicians in the efficient and effective delivery of projects in the civils team in producing civil engineering designs and studies for a range of railway infrastructure projects, specially linked to electrification.
As the Assistant Civil Design Engineer, you will be responsible for assisting in the production of Civils design deliverables in accordance with Network Rail and client requirements working on such schemes as portal frames, OLE Masts, foundation and gantries.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Graduate looking to make that next step up into an Assistant Engineering position, we would also consider candidates with more experience looking at Civil Design Engineering position.
As previously mentioned, this position is based near Glasgow, specifically Coatbridge, so could suit candidates from the mid Scotland region such as Hamilton, Glasgow or Edinburgh.
Ideally experience within a Rail Civils environment, however transferable sectors may be considered if skill are transferable such within the Civils/Structure field. Such as Civil/Structures within Transmission etc
3-year design experience
Experience in the use of Eurocodes.
Experience in the use of computer analysis programs.
Ideally experience in foundation design and strong understanding of the Civil Design principals
