Account Manager - Transport and Utilities - Permanent - Southampton - £65,000 - £75,000 DOE - SC or Willing to Undergo
The role of Account Manager involves being a trusted advisor to our Transport and Utility Clients, broadening and deepening our client relationships, whilst in parallel developing new lines of business based upon our knowledge and expertise. The Account Manager will need to have experience selling technology solutions to these customers, and a knowledge of different technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Identification and shaping of opportunities
Pre-bidding and qualification
Ownership of bids, including some bid management and authorship
Negotiation and Client pitches/presentations
Shape, develop and implement an Account Plan
Build strong relationships with the sector teams
Continue to build our clients brand as Trusted Advisor as a differentiator that sets us apart from other suppliers
Build client satisfaction by managing all interactions with the client across the business whilst acting as client 'champion' within the Company
Providing post-sale management to ensure client expectations are met and high-levels of client satisfaction are achieved, developing a close working relationship with the clients delivery teams and having an interest in the detail of delivery to help identify further opportunities
Represent the Company at supplier relationship management meetings
Information sharing and staff mentoring: Develop a strong partnering ethos and ensure that we can maximise client access
Skills / Experience:
Ability to confidently engage with clients with the aptitude to build long-term relationships, ideally with experience from the Automotive or Rail, or other Critical National Infrastructure, sectors (including relevant procurement processes)
Understanding of, and experience of working on, cyber security projects in the operational technology space
Technical breadth:
Good knowledge of transport and/or Critical National Infrastructure clients, their missions, organisation, culture, senior stakeholders. Positive reputation within the domain
Experience of working in an account management role, liaising with sales personnel to shape proposals, and managing client expectations as/when required
Strong communicator and an ability to motivate and inspire people. High level of energy, self-motivation and a natural leadership styleBenefits:
