Bank Holiday London station closures

Station closures

Charing Cross, Waterloo East, Cannon Street and part of London Bridge station will close over all three days of the August Bank Holiday (August 29-31), with Southeastern trains to be diverted to other London termini and buses replacing some services.

The closures are to allow more station modification work, with London Bridge station gradually being rebuilt platform by platform as part of the ongoing Thameslink programme.

Thameslink Programme Rail Systems Project Director Mark Somers said: “We are untangling the tracks at London Bridge to reduce delays and increase the number of services that can travel through the station from 2018. It’s a massive job and we appreciate the public’s understanding while we do this.”
